Practical information

Where is your wedding weekend?
Our celebration is at Firelight Camps in Ithaca, NY. Ithaca is a wonderful town in the Finger Lakes that is most easily accessed by car, flight, or bus that we think you should check out in your time not occupied by festivities. (Our favorite activities are detailed here.)

By car: To get to the location of most events, plug 1150 Danby Road, Ithaca, NY 14850 into your GPS. This will get you to La Tourelle Hotel. Continue to the lowest parking lot to get to Firelight. Driving times are approximately: six hours from DC; four hours from Baltimore; and four hours from New York, NY.

By flight: The Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport has direct flights between DC, Philadelphia, Detroit, and Charlotte. You may transfer through any of those points, or fly to Syracuse Hancock International Airport. A Lyft between the two cities will take 75 minutes and cost around $100.00.

By other methods: There are also buses between New York, NY and Ithaca from Port Authority hourly on Greyhound (6+ hrs), Trailways NY (4.5 hrs), Flix (4.5 hrs), and Prime Our Bus (4 hrs - which is highly suspicious.) You will have to take a taxi or rideshare from downtown Ithaca to Firelight Camps. We strongly suggest carpooling

What are my lodging options?
You can camp with us at Firelight or book a nearby hotel. There are two camping options: a luxury safari tent and a traditional tent. Tent reservations are very limited; if you are interesting in camping or glamping, please get in touch with us at your earliest convenience. La Tourelle and Country Inn Suites are two hotels within walking distance; we recommend staying at La Tourelle which shares a parking lot with Firelight. Bookings can be made through their websites or through Hotels.com.

What should I bring?
We have a full, comprehensive pack list in our Camp Orientation guide.

What is the dress code?

The dress code for the welcome dinner is sundress casual, but the dress code for the main event is festive, formal wear. This means that for the wedding ceremony, outfits may include: suits or separates (with ties); formal jumpsuits, and midi or full-length dresses. Fun patterns and colors of your choosing are welcome. Please pair your fancy threads with comfortable shoes; if you plan to wear heels, make sure they are block or platform heels.

What are you doing about COVID-19?
Our entire wedding is outside and in June, two mitigating risk factors. However, to further ensure the safety of all, all guests eligible for vaccination are required to be fully inoculated against COVID-19. Full inoculation in Tompkins County is currently defined as having two doses of the J&J shot, two doses and a booster of Moderna or Pfizer, or a J&J shot and booster of Moderna or Pfizer. We are also considering rapid testing all guests prior to attendance of events; we will make a decision regarding on-site testing closer to the date. If you have questions about COVID-19 safety or precautions, please contact us.

How should I plan my time in Ithaca?

We have several suggested group activities throughout the weekend, which are of course all optional. If you would like to squeeze in additional activities on Saturday before the ceremony, we highly recommend visiting the Ithaca Farmer's Market, walking the Cascadilla Gorge Trail (an easy walk), or visiting Robert Treman State Park (a more moderate hike.) If you have extra time on Sunday or Monday, we recommend the trip to Watkins Glen State Park or Treman if you have not already visited.
